About Highbury and Islington
The tree-lined streets of Highbury and Islington have become synonymous with majestic Georgian terraces, fine dining and appealing outdoor spaces. But in fact, this area offers so much more. Highbury and Islington are as close as you could possibly get to the City without actually being there – just a ten-minute Tube ride away. And this prime location is what makes the district so appealing to affluent professionals and business owners looking for office space.
Despite a surge in property development in the 19th century, the Blitz destroyed much of Islington and post-war transformations changed the face of this area of London entirely. The period properties that survived freckle the area’s largely contemporary buildings, providing an aesthetically-pleasing mix of styles.
Once home to Arsenal football stadium, the site for which has since been transformed into a state-of-the-art housing complex, Highbury and Islington is now famed for its many green spaces, bustling bars and live music venues, providing a great place to do business that delivers fantastic access to the city without the overheads that come with the central postcodes.
